GMF has completed the repair of 5 LDE 2100 locomotives of Saudi Railway, the biggest railway operator in the Middle East. The vehicles have embarked at the Port of Barcelona and will travel to Saudi Arabia for the Haramain High Speed Railway Project, the Mecca-Medina high speed line, where they will carry out the rescue work of the high speed trains.
The tasks consisted in the installation of an alternating current converter, the systematic replacement of direct current motors with alternating current motors, new cooling systems and new filters for the heat engine, as well as equipping the cabins with air conditioning.
